　　Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine is jointly supported by the Ministry of Education of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government. 　　The College of Basic Medical Sciences is the oldest, most distinctive, and largest college on the main campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and a major center for integrated education, research, and talent development in basic medical sciences. The College comprises eight departments and three platform centers. It hosts one National International Joint Research Center, one National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center, one Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, one Provincial-Ministerial Collaborative Innovation Center, one Shanghai Municipal Research Institute, three Shanghai Key Laboratories, and one Shanghai Frontiers Science Center. The College has two national “Double First-Class” disciplines and two Shanghai High-Level Local University disciplines. It is authorized to grant doctoral degrees in two first-level disciplines and hosts two postdoctoral research stations. The faculty includes 2 Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 23 participations of national-level talent programs, and 56 participations of national-level young talent programs. 　　Department of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine (to be established):

　　Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine has a long-standing and well-established tradition in integrated Chinese and Western medicine, and was among the first institutions in China to establish a clinical doctoral program in this discipline. Building on sustained development, the discipline has developed a comprehensive innovation ecosystem integrating clinical care, education, research, and translational applications, and has trained a large number of leading experts in integrated Chinese and Western medicine.

　　The College of Basic Medical Sciences is taking the lead in establishing the Department of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine. The initiative aims to integrate resources and leverage the strengths of affiliated hospitals and interdisciplinary expertise at the interface of medicine and engineering. The department will focus on the etiology and pathogenesis of major diseases, as well as research on integrative prevention and treatment strategies combining Chinese and Western medicine. It will strategically advance the deep integration of precision medicine, artificial intelligence, and engineering approaches within this discipline, establish cross-disciplinary research platforms, and develop national-level innovation teams in traditional Chinese medicine. Furthermore, it aims to build a high-level talent training base, innovate healthcare service models, and create a world-renowned, internationally standardized hub integrating clinical care, education, and research, thereby promoting the high-quality development of integrated Chinese and Western medicine.

　　二、岗位要求/Position Requirements

　　1. 遵纪守法，品行端正;热爱高等教育事业，爱岗敬业，善于协作，乐于奉献;治学严谨，身心健康。

　　2. 原则上年龄在55周岁以下，具有博士学位，在海外一流院校获得长聘副教授及以上教职，或在国内知名院校任教并获得重要国家级项目的中青年领军人才。

　　3. 具有相关领域专业背景，研究成果突出，立足国际学术前沿，具备学科顶层战略规划能力，能够引领学科高质量创新发展。

　　4. 应聘者能全职到岗开展工作。

　　1. Professional Integrity and Commitment

　　Candidates should abide by laws and regulations, demonstrate integrity and good conduct, and be committed to higher education. They should be dedicated, collaborative, and service-oriented, with rigorous academic standards and good physical and mental health.

　　2. Academic Qualifications and Experience

　　Candidates should, in principle, be under the age of 55 and hold a doctoral degree. They should have held a tenured associate professorship or higher at a leading overseas institution, or be an early- to mid-career academic leader at a renowned institution in China with major national-level research projects.

　　3. Expertise and Leadership

　　Candidates should have a strong academic background in the relevant discipline, an outstanding research track record, an international perspective at the forefront of their field, and the strategic vision and planning capability to lead high-quality, innovation-driven disciplinary development.

　　4. Full-Time Commitment

　　Candidates should be able to work full-time at the College.

　　1. Faculty Appointment and Competitive Package

　　The successful candidate will be offered a public-institution faculty appointment, with a competitive compensation package and research start-up funding. Specific terms will be determined on an individual basis.

　　The College also houses an advanced Department of Laboratory Animal Science, accredited by both China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and AAALAC International. It has a total animal housing capacity of about 70,000 cages.

　　4. Team-Building Support

　　The successful candidate will be provided with several research assistants, whose compensation will be covered by the School of Medicine. There will be no quota limit for postdoctoral recruitment, and annual doctoral student enrollment slots will be guaranteed. Strong support will be provided for building a high-level research team.

　　5. Family, Healthcare, and Administrative Support

　　Subject to applicable policies, support will be provided to facilitate the enrollment of candidates’ children in affiliated schools, offering access to high-quality education resources. Leveraging 13 affiliated hospitals, the College provides high-quality and convenient healthcare services. Support will be provided for household registration, work permits for foreign nationals, and permanent residency applications.
